Item labels

Many staff items can carry an "item label." This is a brief text label that is locked to the item and will be moved, cut, or pasted together with the item. You can set or change the item label via the info window for each item. Item labels are useful for marking a fingering number on a note, for example, or for marking a first/second ending (the numbers 1. and 2. above are item labels). To alter the position of an item label just click on it with the arrow tool and drag it to where you want it. Item labels can be up to 32 characters in length and can be drawn with or without a surrounding box. They can also use any choice of font, which allows you to use item labels as a means of placing special symbols not found in the Counterpointer notation tools.
