Those planning to buy one of the new Apple computers based on Intel chips will be glad to hear that the Mac OSX versions of Ars Nova products appear to have no problem running on the new Macs. Though Ars Nova's programs are not "universal binaries" designed especially for the Intel chips, we were unable to notice any difference between running on a standard Mac and on the new Intel Mac. Thanks to Apple for an excellent transition!

We've also tested Microsoft's new Vista operating system and find that Practica Musica, Counterpointer and Songworks will run on it as well. When installing the programs you may have some different decisions about where to put them on your computer (Vista is strict about permissions) but the programs run as they would under WinXP.
